How to configure promoted results in SharePoint 2013/Office 365

Best bets in Sharepoint 2010 are changed to promoted results in SharePoint 2013. The links added in promoted results are shown above the ranked results. For example, if the 'Office Policies' doc has to be displayed on top, whenever the user types in 'Office', the link to the doc is provided in promoted results. The user would be able to see the doc link on top of the ranked results.

The below steps show how to configure promoted results at a site collection level

Go to Site settings - Site Collection Administration - Search Query Rules
In the Manage Query Rules window, select Local SharePoint Result from the drop-down of context.
Then click on the New Query rule and provide the following information.
  1. Rule Name
  2. Query Matches Keyword: The keyword for which the promoted link is to be added is given. More than one keyword can be given. For e.g. office; policies.
Click on Add Promoted results and add the following information in the modal window and save
  1. Title: Title of the promoted result.
  2. URL: URL of the promoted result.
  3. Description
Click Save and then go to the search center. Type the word "office". The doc would be displayed on top of the results with a tick mark

Click Next and in the Editform url in the browser, append &ToolPaneView=2 to the end of URL. Add a CEWP to the below of the page and insert the below code, in HTML source or else paste the code in a text file uploaded to sharepoint library and refer to the text file.
